I love crafting the written word, whether it’s authoring a book or article, doctoring a manuscript, or evaluating a first draft. My day is not complete without digging deep into creating or crafting something that could change a person’s life or even the world.

As a ghostwriter with decades of professional writing and book doctoring experience, I can turn the key moments of your life, your experience, your wisdom, or your big idea for a story into a flawlessly polished book, thought leadership piece, or article that can achieve the impact you’re seeking. I can even help you get it published.

I am a bestselling novelist, journalist, ghostwriter, op-ed newspaper columnist, book doctor, screenwriter, science writer, copywriter, and technical writer. Samples of my writing can be found in this portfolio.

Articles about my work can be found in newspapers, magazines, and elsewhere. In addition to writing and doctoring, I can assist with every aspect of publishing, whether you go indie or traditional publishing. I have done this for myself and many of my clients. I can do this for you, too. Publisher’s Weekly has repeatedly written about my work and identified me as one of the Writers Who Rocked Self-Publishing” and reported how my books “exploded” on Amazon (their words, not mine).

All my thought-leadership op-eds and articles have been published in the top 100 ranked newspapers in the country and the highest circulation publications. Many books I have written have ranked #1 on Amazon in their genres and become bestsellers.

In my prior career, I was a scientist (physics), consultant, AI software robotic expert systems developer, software and electrical engineer, tech business owner/president, and e-car engineer/inventor. These two diverse careers combine to make me a highly skilled writer, researcher, book doctor, science/technology expert, and business expert.

As a journalist, I know how to interview and research to get to the salient facts and the underlying truth of any story. As a bestselling novelist, I know how to shape the story into a gripping world-class read that cannot be put down.

For nonfiction manuscripts and journalism: While I have written extensively in most genres and styles of nonfiction, I specialize in narrative nonfiction, with a particular focus on big idea books, memoirs, biographies, history, business, politics, true crime, self-help, how-to, science, and anything that is thought leadership.

For fiction manuscripts: I “literally” specialize in it all and have written everything from literary novels to thrillers to love stories to sci-fi to children’s books to screenplays.

For copywriting: I specialize in book cover copywriting, website copywriting, general creative copywriting, technical copywriting, social media copywriting, and SEO.

Michael Sky Danley (ghostwriting client): “Kevin is an extremely talented writer. Even with professional writers, I would place him in the top one percent. He provided invaluable help in setting up the story, suggesting numerous subplots to advance reader interest. It is no surprise that Kevin is an Amazon # 1 ranked novelist. I give him my highest recommendation and would not hesitate to hire him again.”

Publisher’s Weekly STARRED review of Immortality: “Bohacz’s vision of a humanity that faces the need to evolve profoundly or face certain destruction is as timely as today’s news and as chilling a doomsday scenario as any ecological catastrophe can suggest.”

Kirkus review of Immortality: “There is enough power in the premise to leave readers reeling.”

Publisher’s Weekly STARRED review of Ghost of the Gods: “Bohacz provides mind-bending portrayals of factions vying for power and reflections on the essence and fragility of humanity. But philosophical concerns never obtrude on the fast-paced plot… The question of who can be trusted impels the reader to keep turning the pages of this highly satisfying and dynamic techno-thriller.”

Kirkus review of Ghost of the Gods: “If you thought Immortality was powerful, just wait until you read the sequel.”

My newest novel due out December 2024, Artificial, was selected as an “Editor’s Pick” by Publisher’s Weekly as well as received outstanding pre-publication editorial reviews.

Kirkus Reviews of Artificial: “A compelling and clever tale of AI run amok.”

Publisher’s Weekly “Editor’s Pick” (August 2024) review of Artificial: “Smart, surprising thriller of AI and advanced VR in a fractured America… This compelling tech-thriller of AI, a fractured America, and the ethics of digital and medical privacy, reveals itself, as its tense and thoughtful narrative develops, as a pointed thought-experiment. The setup to this novel from Bohacz (author of Ghost of the Gods) is urgently of-its-moment. Bohacz’s storytelling tends to be more explanatory than in most tech thrillers, emphasizing how everything works and what brought humanity to this brink rather than who is punching whom, but Artificial legitimately thrills, provokes, disturbs, and surprises as the pages fly by.”

Over an extended period of years, both my bestsellers experienced numerous long runs in the low #200s out of the millions of titles Amazon sells, as well as repeatedly hitting #1 in their respective genres and categories. I wrote all the marketing copy and managed the marketing campaigns that elevated these books to bestsellers. So I intimately know how to market and promote books.

You can find my full bio on the About page of this website. The abbreviated version is that I started life as a scientist, e-car inventor, AI software architect, and software and electrical engineer. While still in college, I invented an advanced electric car propulsion system and started a tiny company to build a prototype. Many years later, I started a successful AI software company named CPrompt, which I ran for decades. During that time, I was also writing and freelancing. Eventually, for my second act, I became a full-time writer.

I bill hourly for consulting. All other work can be billed hourly or on a fixed cost-per-word basis with no charge for revisions. It’s your choice. The first hour of preliminary consulting for book-length projects is free.

I am located in the great Boston area and a professional active member of The Authors Guild, SFWA (Nebula Awards), and the Association of Ghostwriters.

What is Book doctoring? On the one hand, it is the most intensive deep editing possible. On the other hand, it is a form of ghostwriting.

Book doctoring is a multi-step iterative combination of developmental editing and ghostwriter-rewriting. It is a unique form of ghostwriting where the ghostwriter is not starting from scratch but starting with a rough draft that is developmentally edited and rewritten by the book doctor.
